When will True Detective Emmy nominations come out?
By Josh Hill
There were few shows this television season that came out of nowhere and hit as hard as True Detective did and as a result we’ve been hearing about Emmy nomination talk for sometime. The first big splash came with the outwardly amazing quality of the show and that was followed by the bigger splash that HBO would be entering the show into the Best Drama category at the Emmy awards this year.

BUt while we’ve been hearing about True Detective Emmy talk for some months now, the question a lot of fans of the show have is when will we learn if the show has been nominated for any awards or not?
The Emmy voting period is officially open at this moment, having opened on June 10th and it will close in a few weeks with the nominations being announced on July 10th. That means we are less than a month away from learning who will be officially up for Emmys and who got snubbed.
Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Mad Men will all be vying for spots against True Detective with House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and The Good Wife all looking for nods as well. So the field is deep and competitive, but there’s a pretty good chance that True Detective ends up getting at least a few nominations when all is said and done.
