Will True Detective Be Announced By July?
By Josh Hill
The first season of True Detective was something special thanks to not only the quality of the writing but the powerful performances we saw the whole way through. Things were led by Matthew McConaughey and followed closely by a flawless and underrated Woody Harrelson and that has set the bar tremendously high for season two.

What we all want to know is when the cast for the show will be officially announced and it seems that we might be nearing a date when we will finally hear who will make up the cast.
As pointed out earlier this month by BreatheCast, series creator Nic Pizzolatto says casting will be concluded and announced by the end of the month.
"True Detective will begin casting for its second season by the end of June, creator Nic Pizzolatto confirmed in a radio interview. Season 2 will be premiering with brand new characters and no reprised roles from first season lead actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson"
This still seems to be on track but there’s no saying things won’t carry over into July. The fact of the matter is, we’d rather wait and get the best cast possible from True Detective in season two than rush things and suffer a fatal misstep. McConaughey and Harrelson were so beautifully cast that the stakes are high for season two and waiting for the right cast would very much be worth it.
