True Detective DVD Bootleg Cover is Hilarious (Photo)

The first season of True Detective just hit shelves on Blu-ray and DVD which means the series if available to be enjoyed by anyone with a few bucks to spare. The set itself isn’t all that great when it comes to special features, but the show is well worth the price and it’s something that people will be rediscovering on home video.

While most stores are carrying the HBO version of the Blu-ray release, the black market is also selling a version of the show and it may be worth the price just for the hilariously awful cover that is being rolled out.
Here’s a look at what the bootlegged cover for True Detective looks like:
You can’t say we didn’t warn you.
It’s almost a shame that this isn’t included somewhere in the actual release of the series as it’s so bad that it’s amazing. It completely misses the entire point of the show and in no way is an accurate representation of anything that goes on in any of the episodes.
What’s even better about it is that it gives us an idea of what the series might have looked like if Michael Bay or John Woo had taken a crack at directing the series, which kind of makes us wish there was something like that out there for us to enjoy.
