True Detecitve Fans Troll Game of Thrones

The season finale of True Detective was back in March and fans of the show have been in a devastating void ever singe then where time is literally flat as a circle. But we True Detective fans are now joined int he HBO waiting room by another group of fans, as Game of Thrones fans are now waiting for their series to return in 2015 and both groups of fans are now experiencing the same dull void.

True Detective fans welcomed the Game of Thrones crowd into the HBO waiting room by playfully trolling the season finale of Game of Thrones which featured a set piece that looked very familiar to fans of True Detective.
In the scene from Game of Thrones, Bran Stark finally arrives to the tree he’s been envisioning the entire series almost, and when he got there fans of the show noticed that there was something very familiar about the setting as it looked as though it was lifted from Carcosa in True Detective.

Obviously, it’s not the same set and we can’t take too much away from the art department on Game of Thrones, as they’ve done a phenomenal job of creating a unique universe. But it’s still funny to see how similar the two settings are and it’s not that surprising given how amazingly successful both shows have become.
