We thought that Matthew McCOnaughey would be nominated but htere was some last second panic that True Detective might have ruffled too many feathers for it’s own good in declaring and running as a Best Drama and not a miniseries. But McConaughey’s performance as Rust Cohle went above and beyond anything we saw on television this year and he’s far and away the leader to win the award.
Here’s a look at who McConaughey is matched up against in the category of Best Actor in a Drama:
Best Actor – Drama Series
Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
Matthew McConaughey, True Detective
Kevin Spacey, House of Cards
Woody Harrelson, True Detective
