In addition to wanting to know when the show will come back, fans are crazy about finding out information about the cast and that’s something that HBO has given some insight into this week as the show beings to enter the final stretch of it’s ‘offseason’ before production begins in September.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO programming director Michael Lombardo gave some insight into the upcoming cast of the series and without giving any names.
"“[It has] different characters, a different setting. It’s set in California, all of California. There are three cops. One of the characters is female."
The casting announcement is going to come soon, as Lombardo teased as much in his little spiel about True Detective at the Edinburgh TV Festival. We all have a good idea of who might be in the show but nothing has been confirmed by HBO thus far. The one thing about the cast was confirmed by HBO was that there are three cop characters which means if there are four leads, Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Elisabeth Moss could be cop characters with Vince Vaughn indeed playing the villain.
