Jay Z Connection to Rust Cohle and True Detective?

The second season of the hits HBO series is about to start production and that means that fans are going to start getting more and more excited about what this new season will hold. But while we sit in a void without any new episodes, fans of the show are starting to get restless in where they get their kicks about the series.

Look no further than the connection that has been drawn between True Detective and Grammy winning artist Jay Z. It’s basically as seven degrees of separation to connect the two but someone has indeed done it. Thanks to Carly Mallenbam from USA Today, Jay Z and True Detective are forever linked.
"In the video for Jay Z and Beyoncé’s On the Run tour, Jay Z wears a leather jacket covered with the book title In the Dust of this Planet.And the character Rust Cohle, played by Matthew McConaughey on True Detective, was partly inspired by the book In the Dust of this Planet. … It turns out, the book is an “academic treatise about the horror humanity feels as we realize that we are nothing but a speck in the universe,” and it seems to be having a major pop cultural moment."
It seems like a stretch, but it’s just another piece of evidence that prove True Detective has a broader and more epic reach than anyone really realizes.
