True Detective Cast: Does Oona Chaplin have inside track?

The True Detective cast is a mystery at this point and the seven lead actresses that have been rumored as being up for the lead female role further complicates what we all thought was a resolved issue.

But sure enough, this week brought news that seven actresses were on a list to star in the show with one of those names being Game of Thrones alum Oona Chaplin.
As opined similarly by Andrew Gruttadaro from Complex, Oona Chaplin may have an inside track since she’s been around HBO before and has a body of work that warrants stardom at this point.
"Chaplin’s already been around the HBO block once and is constantly carrying a surreptitious aura in her work, which would do wonders for a True Detective character who’s fighting a ton of demons. Maybe she deserves a shot."
Chaplin, the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin, seems to be on the rise in Hollywood but she’s only scratching the surface. as a Spanish actress, she’s had success but her breakthrough American role might come in True Detective is she lands the part. There’s no guarantee that she will — or that she’s even really up for the role — but if there’s a non Al-list choice for the female lead than Chaplin may be the best.
