True Detective Season 2 shooting schedule revealed
By Josh Hill
True Detective finally unearthed some real details for fans to chew on this weekend as Colin Farrell officially signed on to do the show and committed to the new season of the series. But while his addition to the cast — the first real confirmation we had of anything on the show — is being applauded, he dropped a few other nuggets that you had to be quick to pick up.

In addition to confirming himself for the cast, Farrell dropped the proposed shooting schedule for True Detective in the process. As Farrell pointed out in his interview, the shooting schedule for True Detective is expected to be roughly four to five months.
This could have a ripple effect that may bring about an earlier premiere date but at the very least we have a time frame in which to expect True Detective to be shot. The next order of business is to determine when the show will begin to roll cameras, which was a detail that Farrell left out of his interview.
Production was rumored to begin this month, as Michael Lombardo said as much earlier in September. That could still happen, but the most likely case here is that shooting begins in early October and lasts until early March.
