The cast of True Detective’s second season is finally falling into place, so we thought it was time to once again to keep you abreast of what is known and what is still a possibility. As of right now, we have three confirmed leads: Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, and Rachel McAdams.
That leaves a lot of others in the unknown category, such as Taylor Kitsch, Keira Knightley, Rosario Dawson, Oona Chaplin, and several others. The list of actors rumored to be connected to True Detective in some way has grown rather large. We still don’t have confirmation on Kitsch’s involvement, but he’s expected to fill in the last lead.

It’s likely that there is some sort of hangup with Kitsch’s involvement or HBO would have likely announced him as the fourth lead along with Farrell and Vaughn. No other actors have appeared to take his place, and with announcements building up and now winding down, we have no real reason to believe that it will be anyone else.
How do you feel about our prospective cast so far? None of the actors made our Dream Actor list, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not fine choices. Vince Vaughn is especially exciting and hopefully we’ll see a McConaughey-esque resurgence in his career.
