The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is coming soon, as a January 2015 premiere date has been rumored as what everyone is shooting for. This week has seen as many as three of the four lead roles filled but there are significant questions about that fourth lead.

More from HBO

As pointed out by Screen Crush, the third lead on True Detective hasn’t yet been confirmed but it’s assumed that it will be Taylor Kitsch. In addition to that, it appears some more about his character is known which further whets our appetite for the new season.

"Three law enforcement officers from different cities and branches of the government would be tasked with finding the culprit, only to discover the investigation has broader and darker implications than they initially thought. Taylor Kitsch remains “expected” to land the fourth leading role, that of a highway patrolman charged with sexual assault."

It’s really only going to be a matter of time before Kitsch is named to the cast of the show but so far that hasn’t happened yet. To be fair though, HBO hasn’t confirmed much yet however with production set to start in a few weeks we should expect to hear something soon.
