It’s going to be incredibly hard to top the first season of the show, with numerous Emmy nominations for the series and likely wins in the Best Actor category, it’s hard to say that the second season will get by on the good looks of the first.
But at the end of the day, the cast is what is going to make the second season of the show special, and that’s something that looks like might be happening as we near an eventual production start date.
So far, nothing has been confirmed but it’s looking like Colin Farrell, Elisabeth Moss, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn are going to be the four main lead roles on the show and that’s something that is absolutely spectacular — because it’s eclectic and seems like it might not work.
No one was slagging off Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson before the first season of the show premiered, but no one could have expected what we got out of them, specifically McConaughey. He ran away with the show and that’s something that has given HBO the benefit of the doubt when it comes to how fans judge casting.
It might not work, but it has the feeling just like the first season did where it seems like it might not work — and that’s why it ultimately ends up working.
