Rachel McAdams Awarded with Star on Walk of Fame in Canada
So, this one is perhaps a tad more than tangentially related. It’s not secret at this point that McAdams has been rumored for True Detective for some time. In fact, enough time has passed that it’s fair to question whether or not it’s actually going to happen. HBO did publicly offer her the role, after all. Either she has yet to decide, or, perhaps more likely, has decided in secret.
Regardless of the goings on with that, The Wrap is reporting that Rachel McAdams has received a star on The Walk of Fame in Canada. It’s a big honor for McAdams, though it doesn’t bring us any more information about her current standing with True Detective’s second season.

Colin Farrell took it upon himself to let the world know of his involvement as one of the four leads, but he has so far been the only one to take that route. Most likely wise, since it’s quite possible that HBO wasn’t very happy with that decision.McAdams has been keeping very quiet on the possibility, so a least we won’t have to go through the confusion on an Elisabeth Moss situation.
At this point it’s difficult to see any details about McAdams in the news without wondering about her could-be role on True Detective. We wish her congratulations, but we’re just going to have to wait a bit longer for the final word.
