According to Deadline, Netflix is deep in talks to acquire Cary Fukunaga’s film Beasts of No Nation, which stars Idris Elba in the lead role.
"This is all going down right now, but I’m hearing that Netflix is near a deal to acquire Beasts Of No Nation, the new film by True Detective helmer Cary Fukunaga about the experiences of a child soldier fighting in a civil war in an African country."
We’ve heard about this film before, and it lead to some short lived speculation that Idris Elba was going to somehow work his way into the second season of True Detective. But this is a project that fans of the series will likely want to check out, as it features the direction of Fukunaga as well as the talents of the always watchable Idris Elba.
It’s not clear if Netflix will indeed acquire the film, but if they do it would be a huge exclusive release for the streaming giant.
