True Detective Twitter Account Suspended?
An account bearing the name @TD_HBO was, until recently, a somewhat sporadic source of information regarding True Detective. Considering that there is no serious Twitter presence for True Detective, it successfully fooled many fans into treating it like an official source.

It would appear that this masquerading True Detective twitter account has not only been shut down, but it’s actually been suspended, leading us to believe that they broke a rule or two. Either that, or perhaps HBO is now cracking down on accounts that bear its name. Which in the end is better for everyone involved.
True Detective has never had a serous social media presence, but the disappearance of this account bearing the HBO name may signal that the True Detective camp is interesting in tackling twitter a little more seriously. Hopefully, anyway.
Even though True Detective and HBO have decided to not do any fan interaction as of late, it’s possible that True Detective will make a greater push now that we’re nearing the supposed season two premiere date of “summer.”
Compared to HBO’s juggernaut, Game of Thrones, the True Detective social push has been rather lackluster at best, and pathetic at worst. While the Game of Thrones twitter is a constant source of details and fun for fans during and after production of a season, True Detective has no such outlet.
If and when True Detective does decide to return to Twitter or the world of social medias a whole, we’ll be here to let you know.
