There’s Some Drama Behind the Scenes of Colin Farrell’s “The Lobster”

The Lobster is changing distributors after some serious financial setbacks.

Colin Farrell’s surreal The Lobster isn’t quite here yet, but it will be soon. The film recently had a new trailer, but apparently there has been some drama going on behind the scenes. The Lobster is a small indie movie regardless of its starring cast, and therefore it originally relied on a distributor to pick it up, as many smaller films do.

According to Variety, the original distributor for the film, Alchemy, has been undergoing some serious financial trouble. So much trouble, in fact, that they won’t be able to distribute The Lobster for its supposed March 11th release date. Distributor A24 has stepped in to take over such duties, though a release date is now up in the air.

A24 can potentially keep the original release or create their own. Either way, The Lobster is currently in an odd space. We may have to wait even longer to see an overweight Colin Farrell attempt to find true love.

The Lobster is like the small, independent cousin of the massive Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which Colin Farrell will also be starring in. Even though we technically know his role in the Harry Potter spinoff, we don’t know all that much about his character in general and he has gotten very little screen time so far in the trailers.

Next: Matthew McConaughey will be honored for his charity work.

Hopefully The Lobster will be able to recover and release before Spring. It would be a shame to further distance the film from Valentine’s Day.
