Stephen Colbert Combines Full House and True Detective, Because Why Not.
Last Night’s Late Show spoofed both Full House and True Detective with Full House Nights.
The True Detective spoof is alive and well, though more so in the hands of fans than celebrities. The time of the celebrity True Detective spoof is mostly over, especially when it comes to season two, which was mostly ignored except to ridicule. On last night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Full House “daddies” were the guests and they brought a little something with them.
Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, and even Stephen Colbert star in the Full House Nights spoof. Apparently things get really weird at night over at Full House. The three male leads become detectives, and Colbert plays the role of the dastardly Dimitri. Check it out:

Is there anything more Uncle Joey than Dave Coulier’s shirt? Not only does the bizarre mashup feature a True Detective-esque intro, it also has a sinister take on the famous Full House theme song. Go big or go home. Saget, Stamos, and Coulier play their Full House characters as detectives, as if there needs to be another reason to watch it.
If you’ve ever wanted to see Uncle Joey do his Bullwinkle impression while talking about an overdose, you probably won’t get another chance. Oh, and then they all end up in a giant bed together. Outside of the intro, there’s not much of True Detective here — it could pass as almost any other cop show. In case you’ve been living under a rock, those are a dime a dozen now.
Next: Matthew McConaughey will star in The Dark Tower.
Still, it’s great to see the True Detective spoof (or semi-spoof) alive and well in popular culture.
