A Cary Fukunaga Produced Film Will Play at the Tribeca Film Festival
A new film produced by Cary Fukunaga will show at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
Even though Cary Fukunaga wrapped Beasts of no Nation some time ago, the promotion and award cycle for the film only recently ended. The searing drama about child soldiers is still fresh in our minds, but that doesn’t mean Fukunaga doesn’t have other projects in the pipeline.
His next major project will be The Alienist for TV, but before that will come Little Boxes, a movie that Cary Fukunaga is executive producing. According to Variety, Little Boxes will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival, which is about a month away. Little Boxes is directed by Rob Meyer and is about the troubles of an interracial family in Washington after moving there from New York City.

Executive producer is the same title that Cary Fukunaga continues to hold on True Detective. In that particular case Fukunaga hasn’t had much involvement with the project — he hasn’t even seen it yet. Since Little Boxes isn’t an established property — or based on one — it’s likely that he was involved a little more than True Detective season two.
Still, Little Boxes is not a Cary Fukunaga movie and those that attend the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival shouldn’t expect it to be one. There likely won’t be much more said about the movie until it premieres at the Festival, and then it could be a long wait until it is picked up for wider distribution.
Next: A new trailer for Kubo and the Two Strings is here.
There doesn’t currently appear to be a trailer of any sort to talk about, so this one is going to have to stay a mastery for a little while longer. For those in the New York area, the Tribeca Film Festival will start April 13th and run through the 24th.
