Time to go Inside the Episode of Last Weeks Girls
Last week’s episode of Girls was important, although it wasn’t the highpoint of the season.
The fifth season of Girls is at an important juncture. The halfway point of the season is usually the point at which Girls tends to go off the rails a bit. Storylines are quickly abandoned and characters take weird left-turns. “Queen for Two Days” hints at this, though there remains some hope that it will still be able to pull in a win.
HBO posted this week’s Indie the Episode and it touches on the episode’s most important plots. Check it out:

Lena Dunham starts off by talking about the retreat that Hannah and her mother go on. The idea is partially based on an accidental vacation that Dunham went on with her boyfriend in which they found themselves in a report for divorcees. The lesbian situation, which didn’t go over all that well, also gets touched upon.
The focus then moves to Shoshanna, and we actually get short interviews with both Zosia Mamet and Aidy Bryant. In case you wanted to know the realities of working with cats in a cat cafe, now is your chance. Of course Shosh’s crushing loneliness is also a topic of discussion.
Shoshanna’s storyline is arguably bigger and currently more pressing than Adam and Jessa’s, but at this point it’s not necessarily more interesting. The quiet, new relationship between Adam and Jessa feels more grounded than Sosh’s turnaround over her feelings about Japan.
Next: The next episode of Girls promises to be Marnie-centric.
Still, it would be cool to keep seeing shots of Japan. These Indie the Episode clips have been getting increasingly more informative, with this one now taking the cake. It’s just a shame that the episode itself wasn’t more interesting.
