Nic Pizzolatto Will Probably Take 2016 Off

2016 will most likely be a quiet year for Nic Pizzolatto, at least in terms of public projects.

We’ve gone over this before, but we don’t currently know what True Detective creator, writer, overload, Nic Pizzolatto is currently working on. That is, of course, by design. Or in other words, everything is working as intended. With no scheduled public projects for 2016, including True Detective, the scribe could easily just work privately for the rest of the year.

When it comes to trying to find out what a certain actor or director is up to, IMDB can be a valuable resource. It’s not always accurate and some projects never come to fruition, but it gets it right enough times to be considered a resource. For those trying to dig into what Nic Pizzolatto has cooking, IMDB is a wasteland.

He did technically write a script for The Magnificent Seven, though it has since been re-written and his involvement in that film is over. He simply has no other public projects for the entire rest of this year. There could be something going on in the shadows — there very likely is — but we probably won’t see it this year, True Detective included (again.)

This is in stark contrast to Cary Fukunaga, who has at least two TV shows in the works that he is directing.

Next: Nic Pizzolatto may stay silent for True Detective season three.

While this is unfortunate for Pizzolatto fans, it could ultimately lead to a fulfilling 2017. Basically, anything to avoid a True Detective season two situation is more than alright. Hey, take half of next year as well if needed.
