Daredevil gets the True Detective Makeover

The Daredevil opening credits have been reimagined in the style of True Detective.

True Detective may not be coming back for a while, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of other great shows to watch in the meantime. Daredevil is one of those shows. Like Netflix’s other Marvel show, Jessica Jones, no background in Superhero fandom is necessary to enjoy the grittiness of Daredevil. It also blows the original film, which starred Colin Farrell for some reason, right out of the water.

Daredevil and True Detective don’t really have all that in common besides both being about, in some capacity, the law. Matt Murdock works as a lawyer in New York City, though they throw the phrase Hell’s Kitchen around like it wasn’t part of the city at all. YouTube user mariabesson decided that there was a sufficient link to reimagine the Daredevil opening credits in the True Detective style.

This fan was brave enough to pay tribute to the second season of True Detective and not the first. The vast majority of intro mashups we see have focused solely on season one.

Daredevil recently premiered its fantastic second season, which improves upon the first in almost every way. It’s a shame that season two of True Detective couldn’t surpass the first, but that was never going to happen anyway.

Next: Will A-lists actors lose interest in True Detective?

Even if season two was objectively better, the first season had already become too beloved and ingrained in popular culture that it could never have supplanted the first.

So there’s that.
