Watch the Preview for the Next Game of Thrones, “Blood of my Blood.”

The next episode of Game of Thrones follows a major one that is not going to be easy to top. Good thing there are so many other storylines going on.

It used to be the most shocking twists in Game of Thrones came in the ninth episode of the season. Ned Stark was killed in the ninth, the Battle of Blackwater was in the ninth, as was the Red Redding. After, Game of Thrones started to buck that trend, and this time the big episode was the fifth. But this is Game of Thrones, and there could be another shocking episode right around the corner.

The next episode, “Blood of my Blood,” probably won’t be it, but it does look like it will cover quite a bit of ground. Usually after a character has a lot of screen time in an episode they take the next one of, but that won’t be the case this time. The preview starts off with Meera and Bran. Check it out:

The consequences of “The Door” likely won’t be the focal point of the episode, though it will at least touch on them. King’s Landing get the lion’s share of the attention here (see what we did?) as they prepare to battle the High Sparrow. Sam and Gilly also end their journey and arrive at Horn Hill, the home of Sam’s family. Sam’s father, Randyll Tarly is not known for being the kindest of men.

We also ge to see Dany and Dario continue their journey back to Meereen, though there is no sign of Jorah. The name of the episode, “Blood of my Blood,” is a Dothraki saying, so it’s likely that Essos will end up seeing the most action. Jon, Sansa, and Arya are all absent in the preview, though hopefully they’re all not absent in the episode.

Next: The Dorne problem on Game of Thrones.

It’s difficult to imagine just where Bran’s storyline is going to go after the shocking events of “The Door.” It’s been too long since Game of Thrones has been this exciting.
