There’s Going to be a Major Rumble on the Next Game of Thrones
By Sam Rideout
The next Game of Thrones, “Battle of the Bastards,” gets right down to business.
There have been many battles on Game of Thrones. The Battle of the Blackwater comes to mind, in the season two episode “Blackwater.” There’s also the fantastic battle in “Hardhome” that showed Jon that battling The White Walkers was going to be even more difficult than originally imagined. Game of Thrones is famous for its epic fight scenes, and “Battle of the Bastards” will likely not change that.
The name of the episode leaves little to the imagination. Jon and Ramsay are finally going to have their little war. Ramsay hasn’t been seen in several episodes, but Jon has been busy gathering forces for this very reason. Check out the preview below:

The preview makes it clear that “Battle of the Bastards” will have little room for anything else. It’s the most epic teaser of the season, and there is a thrill at seeing Jon at the head of an army made of mostly Wildlings. We do know, however, that he doesn’t have the raw numbers to beat back Ramsay. Jon sates that he doesn’t want to be brought back again, but there’s no reason to be suspicious that Jon is going to die again so soon.
There’s also a great shot of Davos as he discovers what can only be the sight of Shireen’s burning, something which he hasn’t yet learned about. He’s going to have a thing or two to say to Melisandre after that, assuming he survives. It’s not clear if “Battle of the Bastards” will feature more than just the battle itself.

It’s possible that we’re going to have to wait a little longer to see what happens to Arya and Daenerys, but that won’t be a problem if episode nine — the famous Game of Thrones number — is half as epic as the preview makes it look like.
