Peter Krause and Michael C. Hall Talk About Six Feet Under

The Six Feet Under celebration continues with two new interviews with Peter Krause and Michael C. Hall.

HBO’s twisted family drama, Six Feet Under, recently turned 15. To celebrate, HBO has been conducting a few new interviews and taking to social media. They also replayed the entire series on HBO 2, but of course it’s all available to watch over at HBO Now or HBO Go. We’ve already gotten Alan Ball’s touching thought on the series, so now it’s time to check in with Peter Krause and Michael C. Hall.

Krause and Hall played Nate and David Fisher, respectively. Two brothers that took over the running of their family’s funeral home after their father passed away. Both actors have made major names for themselves since Six Feet Under (Hall went on to Dexter and Krause was on Parenthood.) HBO decided to sit down with both of them (separately) to talk about Six Feet Under.

The interviews are different as the actors are not asked the same questions, and both have their juicy bits. For Michael C. Hall, it was about reading the script for the now legendary final episode:

"“I felt excited — I was in on a really amazing secret. I felt really satisfied as somebody who was on the inside of the experience of making that show in a way that I think the audience ultimately felt satisfied when they watched it.”"

It’s not easy for a series to pull off a satisfying finale, but Six Feet Under made it feel effortless. For those that haven’t seen this series yet, you are urged to do so as soon as possible at least to experience the last episode.

While both actors talked about the finale, Peter Krause also touched on a few of Nate’s issues. Mainly the fact that many of them could have been avoided if he had followed this piece of advice:

"“Go back to Seattle! For some people the power of family can be really suffocating.”"

True words. Both interviews are worth reading in full, at least to find out how Peter Krause learned to surf and what Michael C. Hall kept after the show ended. Be warned, however, that if you haven’t watched Six Feet Under there are heavy spoilers throughout. But, really, what’s the half-life of a spoiler, anyway?
