HBO Nabs Television Critics Association Nominations
HBO has several productions nominated for Television Critics Association awards.
The race for award season has fully begun, and HBO is expecting big returns on its shows and movies. Award season has typically been kind to HBO, though there has been increased competition from both Amazon and Netflix. Hulu, with the success of Catastrophe and The Path, is also something to watch out for. HBO has a lot of cards in play at the Emmy’s, and now they have several from the Television Critics Association.
The TCA could have big news for HBO. According to their own press release, HBO has the most nominations, topping out at 12. HBO has several actors and productions nominated across multiple categories. Check out a full list of HBO’s nominations below:

That’s a healthy spread, though it is mostly filled with the usual suspects. When it comes to the drama category, it would be nice if The Leftovers could get some love even though it’s going to go up against not only Game of Thrones, but also Mr. Robot and Better Call Saul. In terms of HBO, Game of Thrones gets more than enough love. The Leftovers could use some for it stunning second season.

It’s expected that Bryan Cranston is going to take in some wins for All The Way, so that’s something to look out for. Veep also does well for itself, and between it and Silicon Valley it will likely take the lead. Missing is Girls, though that hasn’t done well in regards to awards in the past few years.
The TCA’s will take place on August 6th.
