Silicon Valley got an Award at Comic Con. Sort of.
Silicon Valley beat award season at its panel
Silicon Valley is one of the several shows that HBO has been brought to SDCC, and its panel helped kick off the weekend. Silicon Valley is, by the way, one of HBO’s many productions that has been nominated for an Emmy. Suffice it to say, its panel was always going to be a good time. Those in attendance, however, probably didn’t expect to be given an award.
Laura Jones, a Comic Con executive, presented Mike Judge with an award for career achievement during Thursday’s panel. So, that’s one for Silicon Valley ahead of the September Emmy awards. According to all accounts, T.J. Miller (Erich Bachman) wasn’t at the event, which probably ended up being something of a blessing in disguise. Miller tends to be the focus of attention, so without him the rest of the cast could interact a bit more.

The cast dished on a few memorable scenes from the third season, including something involving a horse that we’re not going to go into. Mike Judge and Alec Berg both ended up agreeing that “It’s more fun to watch these guys fail and be humiliated.” Yeah, they’re probably right.
Work has already begun on season four, though it was deemed far too early to talk about. The fact that Silicon Valley is going to a have a fourth season will probably be enough to excite people — the details can come later.
Eventually video of the panel will surface online, but for now it can be considered something of an exclusive. It sounds like HBO got things off to a strong start with Silicon Valley. Hopefully they can keep it up with the rest of their upcoming panels.

Oh, and can we talk about how fantastic Kumail Nanjiani is for a second? That guy deserves far more props than he gets.
