Game of Thrones Teases Season 7

Game of Thrones has posted an in Production teaser

The sixth season of Game of Thrones did a lot to shake up the series, something that needed to happen to prepare for the end. That has created a lot of anticipation for season seven. The wait feels similar to what it was like in between seasons three and four. That is to say, directly after the Red Wedding.

The unfortunate reality is that we’ll be waiting a bit longer to see Game of Thrones return for season seven. It’s likely because of that, and the increased sense of hype, that Game of Thrones decided to release a little tease. Check it out:

This is a hype trailer of the highest order. Season seven is not currently filming, so there’s not all that much to show. Still, it is exciting to see the team getting ready and assembling props. The tease is accompanied by several ominous character voiceovers and you can even see the scripts being laid out for what ostensibly will be a table read.

It’s not common for Game of Thrones do post this sort of teaser. It’s more in-line with what Star Wars has taken to doing for the new movies. But there are a lot of hungry Game of Thrones fans (us included) that are going to have to wait an extended amount of time for what will be a shortened season.

HBO paired the teaser with San Diego Comic Con, which is currently ongoing. It was a smart move. Of course it was a forgone conclusion that Game of Thrones would already been in production for season seven, but it’s different actually seeing it rather than just being told about it. While this may not make the wait all that easier in the long run, it does get the blood boiling a bit — in a good way.
