Real Sports Continues with Charissa Thompson
Real Sports talks to Charissa Thompson
Real Sports has the reputation as being one the most trusted sports reporting shows on television, and for good reason. It takes a critical eye to sports that goes beyond simple news. The new season is in full swing, having kicked off with a special look a the Rio Olympics which have recently wrapped up.
This Tuesday Real Sports will sit down with Charissa Thompson, a reporter for Fox Sports. You can watch a clip of her interview here:

Thompson talks about what it’s like to be a female reporter, specifically in sports. Spoiler alert: it’s been a bit of an uphill battle. Unfortunately that doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The new Real Sports episode will dig deep into that topic and find out what it’s really like out there. Just don’t expect it at the usual time — this edition of Real Sports will air at 11:00 PM EST instead of its usual time.
It’s expected that Real Sports will take its usual care with the topic at hand, opening up the show to more than just sports fans. For those that are interested in getting a double dose of HBO branded sports programming, an episode of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Los Angeles Rams will be airing beforehand.
Since Real Sports is not a weekly show it can take the time to really explore its topics. Last Week Tonight, even though it is a weekly show, takes a similar approach by fleshing out a particular topic or story. Real Sports has been able to succeed for so long because it is able to dive into stories like Charissa Thompson’s and offer something different from the average sports series.
