Danny McBride and Walton Goggins show their true selves
Vice Principals is something of a minor hit for HBO, something which was expected to happen from the talent behind Eastbound & Down. It has so far proven to be rather hit or miss, though the actual comedic content is usually solid. Both Danny McBride and Walton Goggins have been promoting Vice Principals on their own, though they recently got together to do a photo shoot for GQ.
And yes, the shoot itself is as ridiculous as you can imagine. McBride and Goggins dressed up as various mascots, including Ronald McDonald and The Hamburgler Take a quick guess as to who played which.

There’s something truly special about seeing Danny McBride dressed up as the Wendy’s logo. It’s basically a short skit that plays to each of their strengths. That is, their strengths at portraying complete jerks. It’s true that there isn’t much to be learned from the shoot, but that’s okay. Seeing both of them mess around is good enough.
Vice Principals, after having skipping a week due to Labor Day, is getting wrap up its first season. We already know that a second season of nine episodes is on the way, so there’s not much suspense there. Will Danny McBride and Walton Goggins become true friends? We hope not, as that would undermine a lot of the comedy and friction on the show.

Vice Principals will return on September 11th and conclude the following week on the 18th. It has so far been an enjoyably way to pass the summer, though the real comedy meat is waiting for us in October. Hopefully.
