Get a peek at the Future of Westworld
HBO wants you to look into Future of Westworld in a new preview
Just as predicted, the first episode of Westworld was a hit. It was HBO’s highest rated premiere in years, outperforming big names like The Night Of and True Detective. The first episode brought the series boldly into the light of day after a lengthy delay, and now it’s time to look to the future of Westworld. Instead of posting a simple preview of this upcoming Sunday’s episode, “Chestnut,” HBO opted to show of a far reaching teaser instead.

The preview is titled “In the Weeks Ahead,” and shows off clips that will be seen in the rest of the season. It’s not strictly clear what the timeline is here, though it would make sense that we’d be seeing the clips towards the beginning first, beginning with “Chestnut.” That leads to the introduction William, played by Jimmi Simpson. We’ve seen Simpson in previous trailers, and viewers may know him from both House of Cards and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
“In the Weeks Ahead” also promises a bigger role for Maeve, a character who took a backseat to Delores in “The Original.” The Man in Black will also continue his mission to sew chaos however he sees fit, revealing truths that will be forgotten once the Hosts are reset. Though there is so far good reason to believe that won’t be the way it works for too much longer.
Next: Westworld has healthy ratings so far
Westworld go through an impressive amount of world building in the first episode. It has so far been a series that has played with all of its cards on the table, clearing way for the central mystery of the supposed bad update that is slowing making its way across the Hosts. Another way to look at that is that Westworld won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
