The Preview for the next Westworld Brings the Labyrinth to Light

Dolores enters the real game of Westworld.

For the past several episodes of Westworld, the Main in Black has bene playing a brutal game. At first he seemed like just a sort of outlaw wanting to break the system, and while that also may be true, he is also after something more. He’s looking for a labyrinth, which is apparently the true game present in Westworld. And as the preview for episode 4 shows us, titled “Dissonance Theory,” Dolores will be entering that same game.

More from HBO

We learned last episode that Bernard has something of a thing for Dolores. If not true romantic feelings, he at least feels an attachment to her. Perhaps paternally if nothing else. He has given her the gift of choice, and now he wants her to enter the game that the Man in Black has already been playing. That could offer her freedom, though what that really means is still a mystery. Freedom the leave the park, to live as human? We’ll have to wait and see.

“Dissonance Theory” also returns the Man in Black to the forefront after taking last week’s episode off, and he’s still on the hunt. While we don’t get a sneak peek at what Teddy, Maeve, or William are up to, we do see Ford bears his teeth in conversation with someone we don’t see. It’s unlikely that it’s Bernard since they are so close, but it could be the ever-annoying Sizemore.

Next: Will William fall for Dolores on Westworld?

Westworld started strong but now it feels like it’s really on to something. “Dissonance Theory” will be sure to bring us more chaos bubbling under the surface and hopefully explain a bit more about what the top-secret game is really about and who back in Westworld HQ actually knows about it.
