Watch the Preview for Westworld’s ‘Contrapasso,’ in Which Dolores Finds Herself

‘Contrapasso’ promises more big reveals in store for Dolores.

Westworld flirts with the idea of having an ensemble cast, but really Dolores is at the heart of it all. She has the attentions of both Bernard and Ford, as well as William and, of course, Teddy. ‘Contrapasso’ will bring wrap up Westworld’s first half, and if the preview is anything to go on it will do so in a big way.

Dolores will continue her adventure away from her “loop,” accompanied by William. A conversation with Ford reveals that he seems to know about what she’s been up to, which isn’t so surprising considering just how much power he wields over the park. There is also a gnarly scene in which see appears to unzip her arm, so, yeah, be prepared for that. At least she appears to love her newfound “freedom.”

The Man in Black will also continue his adventure looking for the maze, whatever that actually means. Apparently he has found a worthy adversary, which is just the thing that kind of character archetype loves. At the end of the day The Man in Black is bored, and someone worthy to find against will help fix that. There will also apparently be some sort of confrontation between him and Ford — two heavyweights staring each other down.

We already know that The Man in Black is a heavy hitter in the park, having at least enough money to be a Guest for the past 30 years. Ford must be keeping his eye on him, and perhaps he has been for years. Considering that he knows about Arnold, it’s possible that him and Ford go way back.

Westworld has been full-throttle since it began, something which can be a little tiresome. ‘Contrapasso’ doesn’t look to be changing that, but it could still offer up a compelling chapter in the Westworld mythos.
