Selina Meyer Wants you to get out and vote
Julia Louis-Dreyfus filmed a special message as Selina Meter to get the word out about voting.
The 2016 presidential election is less than one week away, and for some that will bring relief from an election cycle that has lasted for just about two years. An exhausting two years, at that. But before that can happen people need to actually vote, a point that isn’t lost on former president Selina Meyer. Meyer has a special message for all of the young voters out there: do it.

The clip is less than a minute so there really isn’t any reason to not check it out. And what message from Selina Meyer could possibly be complete without Gary? “it was cold on election day” is also a hilarious excuse as to how Meyer ended up losing the election in the previous season of Veep. But it’s true enough; people do find excuses to not vote.
HBO previously ran an election campaign for Game of Thrones, but even though Game of Thrones does contain political elements, this type of talk is more at home with Veep. It’s actually a little surprising that Veep didn’t run this clip sooner, but better late than never also works. Once this election is over we can get back to worrying about fictional politics, like what Meyer is going do now that she’s completely out of the White House.
Next: Westworld isn't fooling anyone.
It won’t be too much longer until we see the first trailer for Veep season 6. It’s strange how actual politics can get us in the mood for the antics of Meyer and her “friends,” but such is life.
