Pete Holmes Tries to make a buck in the Trailer for Crashing
A new trailer for Judd Apatow’s Crashing, starring Pete Holmes, introduces us to the world of the poor comic.
HBO’s fall lineup is officially behind us, with Insecure, Divorce, and Westworld all having ended their first seasons. Both Insecure and Divorce will be back with us next year, but Westworld will be taking a year off. It’s important, therefore, that we find some new good stuff to hook onto. Enter Crashing, the new comedy from Judd Apatow starring Pete Holmes.

Crashing follows the proud tradition of comics playing different versions of themselves. Pete Holmes (as Pete) is trying to find his footing after losing his wife to a boxer named Rocco. It happens. None of that is in the trailer, so it’s tough to tell how important that little detail is going to be. He’s also as struggling comedian trying to make some money and, apparently, find a permanent place to crash. Think more Curb Your Enthusiasm than Seinfeld.
The trailer also shows off some other comedic muscle in the form of guest stars. Sarah Silverman and T. J. Miller both show up, and it’s expected that even more stars will appear over the course of the season.
Judd Apatow has shows all over town. Well, he has one on Netflix, anyway. We’ve been looking forward to Crashing for a while now, and clips of it can be seen in HBO’s trailer for what’s coming in 2017. The new series will join the winter lineup, featuring shows like The Young Pope, Big Little Lies, and the final season of Girls. Crashing will also star Artie Lang as himself and Lauren Lapkus (Jurassic World, Orange is the new Black) as Jess, Pete’s ex-wife who is now with Rocco.
Next: Wetworld isn't really getting the attention it deserves.
The season premiere of Crashing will air on February 19th at 10:30 PM EST. Will you be checking it out?
