Alan Ball’s new Series adds cast Members from Scream and Fear the Walking Dead
Alan Ball’s new family drama may not have a name, but its cast is starting to fill out nicely.
Creator and writer Alan Ball has a long-standing relationship with HBO. That relationship gave birth to both Six Feet Under and True Blood. While True Blood kind of went off the rails in a wonderfully trashy sort of way, Six Feet Under was on of television’s greatest dramas. Ball now has something new cooking over at HBO, and there are now several new cast member to prove it.

According to Deadline, the still untitled project is adding alums from Scream, Fear the Walking Dead, and Grey’s Anatomy. That’s Sosie Bacon, Daniel Zovatto, and Jerrika Hinton, to be specific. And then throw into the mix Raymond Lee, who has guested on Mozart in the Jungle and Modern Family. They will join the previously announced Holly Hunter.
The series is about a complicated multi-racial family that tries to do good. And then, of course, one of the children start to see things nobody else can. But that happens all the time. Sosie Bacon will play Kristen, the family’s only biological child. Daniel Zovatto plays Ramon, the child with the spooky ability (or mental illness,) Jerrika Hinton will only be a guest star, and Raymond Lee will play Duc, a Life Coach adopted from Vietnam.
Next: It's Westworld vs. Game of Thrones at the Golden Globes.
This is set to be an ensemble cast not unlike Six Feet Under, and just like that show is being described as a dark comedy. Not all of the roles are cast yet and filming hasn’t begun yet, so don’t expect to hear about a premiere date for a while. We’d be happy with late 2017, but 2018 is certainly a strong possibility.
Alan Ball returning to family drama is good news for everyone. Well, everyone that likes really sad families.
