Shailene Woodley Talks Big Little Lies on the Late Show

Just don’t expect to learn much more

Now that the pesky The Young Pope is out of the way, it’s time for HBO to focus on Big Little Lies. We previously wondered if HBO rushed out The Young Pope so it wouldn’t collide with Big Little Lies, since the former isn’t technically its own production. To help promote the eventual juggernaut that is Big Little Lies, star Sharilene Woodley went on The Late Show to talk about the show. And  many, many other things.

Before we link the interview, we feel its important to note that Shailene Woodley is a political person, and has been arrested for protesting. If politics are current turn-off for you, we suggest that you skip the first six or so minutes.

More from HBO

So, yes, very little bit of the interview is about Big Little Lies. To be fair, there’s not really that much about the show that we don’t know about this point, and it is less than a week away. The interview is mostly a way to talk about Conway’s politics and what’s happening with the Dakota Access Pipeline. In terms of Big Little Lies, we don’t learn much more than that Conway plays the new addition to a town of suburban mothers who are deeply set in their ways and hierarchy. Somebody then ends up murdered, as these things usually go.

Next: Let's talk about Girls Illustrated.

We expect big things (no pun intended) from Big Little Lies, and it’s actually nice to see one of the non-major stars doing the promotion. This is a show that also stars Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, but we’ve heard plenty from them over the past few months.

Big Little Lies, as a limited series, will kick off on HBO on February 19th at 9:00 PM EST.
