Jimmi Simpson Doesn’t know what is Going to Happen on Westworld Either

Jimmi Simpson doesn’t know any more than you do

There was a certain point during Westworld’s first season when the fans pretty much had it figured out. HBO’s Head of Programming, Casey Bloys, confirmed as much in an interview. But as of right now, we don’t really have any idea what’s going to happen in season 2. The only thing we can say with some certainty is that it’s not going to begin exactly where it left off, but there is still plenty of time for that to change. It turns out that the cast doesn’t know what’s going to happen, at least according to Jimmi Simpson.

More from HBO

Jimmi Simpson played William in season 1, and in a new interview with GQ, talks about the possibilities for season 2. The interview is mainly about men’s fashion, though Westworld does sneak in there. But Simpson doesn’t even know if he’s going to be in it:

"“So far, my involvement in that is unclear. If they have more for William, I would assume it would be a whole new kind of story…But if they have a reason—I mean, it was the greatest set I’ve ever worked on. But we’re all speculating what season two will be, and I think it’ll be something that will blow our minds, to the degree that the first season did.”"

That should give you a good idea of how early it still is for Westworld season 2. Granted, they likely want to keep as tight a lid on it as possible, but it would be wise to not expect any news for some time. William was an integral part of the first season, but that doesn’t mean he will be needed in other seasons. The timelines are not caught up, and the only form of William that seems potentially relevant right now is the Man in Black.

Still, there is a lot about William that we still don’t know, such as how he got into such a position of power. Did he really leave Logan to die?

The entire interview is an interesting read, especially if you’re interested in what Simpson is currently up to, or what sort of clothes he prefers.
