Watch Jon Snow wield a lightsaber in this Game of Thrones / Star Wars mashup

What could make Jon Snow from Game of Thrones kicking ass on the battlefield more awesome? Well, that would be Jon Snow wielding a lightsaber kicking ass on the battlefield.

In Game of Thrones season 6, episode 9, “Battle of the Bastards,” Jon Snow faced down a charging cavalry of Ramsay Bolton’s men, with only his trusty sword, Longclaw in his hands. As you probably already know, Jon survived the battle by hacking, stabbing, and hewing his way through the Bolton army, before his half sister totally saved his ass with the Knights of the Vale, in a scene right out of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, with Sansa being Gandalf and Jon being Aragorn stuck in Helm’s Deep.

But back to Jon standing firm against the Bolton cavalry charge. Thanks to YouTuber Omid G, we can see the new King in the North fight the Boltons, but this time, he’s swinging a blue lightsaber. Check it out:

You have to appreciate the attention to detail that Omid gives this video. There are loads of Game of Thrones and Star Wars mashups out there, but Omid really takes it home with Jon’s usual sword, Longclaw, being replaced by a lightsaber. Hey, I wonder if that’s Luke’s old lightsaber? Maz Kanata sure gets around (insert The Force Awakens joke here).
