HBO’s “The Leftovers” heads down under for a bottle episode starring Kevin dad.

The Leftovers will follow up last week’s Nora-centric episode with one that completely surrounds Kevin Garvey Sr. for the first time, delving deeper into his emergence in Australia, as well as his past life.

While the synopsis and trailer for Season 3, episode 3, entitled “Crazy Whitefella Thinking,” show that the episode will mostly revolve around his attempts to save the world from the apocalypse while living in the Outback, two sources have provided us with more details as to what we can expect to see. But first, the official synopsis:

"With the clock ticking towards the anniversary of the Departure and emboldened by a vision that is either divine prophecy or utter insanity, Kevin Garvey, Sr. (Scott Glenn) wanders the Australian Outback in an effort to save the world from apocalypse."

More from HBO

According to SpoilerTV, we’ll be seeing more of Grace, one of the women from the end of the second episode who was seen drowning a police chief named Kevin. We’ll be getting background as to her motivation behind the action, and learn the sad situation regarding her relationship to the Sudden Departure.

Kevin Sr. also comes in contact with a man who poses a question to him that plays a significant role in another character’s storyline. The character in question may be Nora, who was seen at the end of the Season 3 premiere as an older woman named Sarah delivering white doves to a church where a nun asks her if she knows someone named Kevin. Lastly, the site teases that the final sentence of the episode “sets the stage for the rest of the season (as well as next episode).”

Entertainment Weekly also went further in-depth on what we can expect from tonight’s episode. Other than the details on Kevin Sr. and Grace, they reveal that we’ll be learning more about Nora’s investigation into the machine that’s allegedly transporting people to where the departed went using radiation that will also take her to Australia.

Additionally, viewers, we’ll be hearing from the child version of Kevin Jr. A flashback scene or two should be expected given that the trailer for the episode opens on when Kevin Sr. began hearing voices while he was still a police chief in New York.
