American Gods is rapidly approaching the conclusion of its first season, and here are all the ways you can watch episode 7, ‘A Prayer for Mad Sweeney’ live and online.
We are just going to put this out there from the get go; if Starz and American Gods kill off Mad Sweeney this week on ‘A Prayer for Mad Sweeney’ we are going to riot. Pablo Schreiber’s deranged Russian leprechaun has been easily one of the highlights of the show thus far, would be sorely missed should he depart this week.
With respect to Ian McShane’s Mr. Wednesday and Ricky Whittle’s Shadow Moon, Mad Sweeney and Laura’s (Emily Browning) chemistry is miles ahead of the show’s primary stars. Watching those two play off each other has been a delight, and we are hopeful that Starz will keep Mad Sweeney around for a long time to come. Sweeney clearly needs to recover the coin that is keeping Laura “alive,” but if we had to choose between keeping one of the two alive, we’d choose Sweeney.

Many a change has been made from Neil Gaiman’s novel, and we hope that Mad Sweeney’s fate is among those.
