The Defenders and The Punisher get new posters for SDCC

D23 might be happening this weekend but San Diego Comic Con promises to have a lot in store for Marvel fans as well.

The week before the convention takes place, Marvel has announced that there will be two new posters being released for attendees for The Defenders and The Punisher. Of course, the latter is a dark as one would expect from a show about the dark anti-hero, while the former embraces the color palette of each individual Defender.

The Defenders poster features its four heroes: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist each in the coloring represented in the show as well as the characters’ costume. It’s definitely a cool design, and for those who found the show, Iron Fist, a bit silly then they’ll get a good chuckle out of how unrealistic Finn Jones looks on the right.

Unfortunately, the poster will only be available to SDCC attendees on July 20 at the Marvel Booth which is #2329. If you’re going to Comic Con and a fan of the New York heroes then this seems like the perfect memento to grab.

Unlike The Defenders colorful poster, The Punisher is a much darker portrayal of the new series coming to Netflix. The violent vigilante debuted in Daredevil‘s sophomore season where he stirred up quite a bit of trouble by killing multiple gang members.

Drawn by Joe Quesada (Marvel Entertainment Chief Creative Officer), the poster is a perfect teaser for fans of Frank Castle. Sporting his signature skull shirt, a loaded gun, and covered in blood he is the perfect amount of intimidating but tragic that The Punisher series is hoping to achieve. Like The Defenders, this poster will only be available at Comic Con at the Marvel Booth #2329 but on July 21.

While SDCC is only a week away, The Defenders will be premiering later this summer on August 18. The Punisher still doesn’t have a debut date but has concluded filming and is expected to hit Netflix in either the fall or winter.
