The Walking Dead is nearing its season 8 premiere and one of the show’s stars says there will be more killing, and more importantly, more Negan.

The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs, who portrays Carl Grimes, has gone on record to say fans can expect a lot more chaos and mayhem when the show returns for its eighth season on October 22. Speaking with Australian national radio station Triple J, Riggs had this to say:

"Season 7 was all about building up and getting everyone ready to fight against Negan, and this season there’s going to be lots of explosions, lots of killing, a lot more Negan. Yeah, lots of fighting, lots of cool stuff. It’s really, really fun this season."

Fans seemed not to care too much for season 7, which saw the rise of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the death of long-time fan-favorite Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). Perhaps it was because the season seemed to go stagnant after the premiere that also so Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) meet his end at the end of Negan’s bat, Lucille, compiled with the fact that the entire first half season 7 was spent with Rick and the survivors at the Alexandria Safe Zone being subjugated by the ruthless yet polarizing villain.

Either way, The Walking Dead seems poised, once again, to take the top spot on Sunday night television ratings, especially since it won’t be competing with a major player from HBO like Game of Thrones or Westworld.
