IFC releases new ‘Stan Against Evil’ season 2 trailer
By Shawn Lealos
Last year, IFC had a surprise hit on their hands with the 30-minute horror-comedy series Stan Against Evil.
If it sounds like this is similar to the Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead, you would be close to the truth. While Stan Against Evil never once comes close to the brilliance of the Bruce Campbell series, the comic timing of John C. McGinley (Scrubs) makes it well worth the watch.
Now, Stan Against Evil is getting a second season, and IFC just released a new trailer for the new installment of the franchise. This trailer is the second one since the release of the San Diego Comic-Con trailer three months ago.
Stan Against Evil debuted on Halloween 2016, created by Dana Gould (The Simpsons), and starred McGinley as Sheriff Stan Miller in the small New Hampshire town of Willard’s Mill that burned witches in the 17th century. Every sheriff in the town died horribly until Stan went nuts after his wife’s death and was fired – while still alive. However, Stan has to team with the new sheriff Evie (Janet Varney) when close to 172 demons attack the town.
Stan Against Evil might not match up to Ash vs. Evil Dead, but it is still good fun with some great comedy mixed in with some disgusting monsters. And hey, this is the perfect time of year to toss another “evil” show into the mix.
