Netflix releases teaser and info for Narcos season 4
Netflix hit, Narcos, is returning for a fourth season and the streaming giant has released a teaser with the announcement.
If you were left wanting more at the end of Narcos season 3, then Netflix has some fantastic news for you as the streaming giant has released a teaser announcing season 4 is coming in 2018, starring Diego Luna (Rogue One) and Michael Peña (Ant-Man). Here’s that:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Luna and Peña (slated to be new series regulars) will star in the show’s fourth season which moves its location from Columbia to Mexico.
"Production on season four recently began in Mexico City. Season four will be set in Mexico and will explore the Guadalajara cartel."
With the first two seasons of Narcos telling the story of the infamous Pablo Escobar boss of Medellin, and the third season telling the story of those who tried to fill his shoes, season 4’s location move should provide a fresh perspective on the show.
Fans shouldn’t expect a return from series regular and former Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal (Javier Pena), as Narcos showrunner made it clear that season 3 would be the end of his character’s story.
Speaking previously with THR, Eric Newman (Narcos showrunner) said, “I think we may do something really interesting that surprises people [next season]. I do think that we’ve told Pena’s story pretty effectively.”
With today’s climate of President Trump’s promise to put up a wall between the United States and Mexico, perhaps a Narcos story showing just how the war on drugs is being lost at every level will be an eye-opener, or at the very least a comment on society as a whole.
