There had been two teasers already released for the second season of the FX prestige Marvel Comics series. The first teaser featured Audrey Plaza as The Shadow King, telling viewers that nothing they saw the first season was real and it was all a delusion.
The second Legion teaser was a rapid-fire series of shots from season two, with chattery teeth <shiver> while Syd (Rachel Keller) tells David Haller (Dan Stevens) that “this thing kills everyone.” With that in mind, it seemed that Legion season 2 was going to keep everyone off balance, much the way the first season did.
The most recent news came yesterday when an interview with Dan Stevens revealed that the time jump made in season 2 will keep David — as well as the viewers — completely off balance as to what is happening in this world.
That leads to the Legion season 2 official trailer.
The new Legion season 2 trailer starts off with Ptonomy Wallace (Jeremie Harris) asking David what he remembers after last season ended (remember that a year passed in the real world while David was “gone”). After some shots of David waking up and trying to figure things out, he tells Ptonomy that he remembers “trees and dancing”
The words “what are you hiding” keeps repeating as David remembers visions from the past, including trees on a roof and a crazy dance scene, which causes Ptonomy to get up and leave.
It is funny and disorienting and perfectly Legion.
After this, the Legion season 2 trailer goes into detail about what has changed in the last year, as David’s friends tell him that they joined Division 3 after he left and worked together to fight their “real enemy” — to which David responds – “The Shadow King.”
Syd (Rachel Keller) then explains that The Shadow King is “infecting” others, which is where the chattering teeth from the previous teaser are explained. He is then told the end is coming and the Shadow King (Navid Negahban) tells David that Syd lives in the future he will destroy, which will cause her to no longer exist.

The final line of the new Legion season 2 trailer hammers home the team aspect, as Ptonomy asks Syd if she still trusts him and she says “he’s my man,” which leads to David with a sly smile. Legion season 2 premieres on April 2 on FX.
