Arrow – “The Thanatos Guild”

"NYSSA AL GHUL COMES BACK TO STAR CITY WITH A DANGEROUS MESSAGE FOR THEA — Nyssa Al Ghul (guest star Katrina Law) returns to Star City to warn Thea (Willa Holland) that a group of renegade League of Assassins members are planning to attack her. This group, led by Athena (guest star Kyra Zagorsky), is intent on finding a mysterious box that Malcolm left behind and will stop at nothing to get it. Nyssa helps Oliver (Stephen Amell) come to a life-changing realization."

Being the daughter of Malcolm Merlyn is the gift that just keeps giving apparently. Thea is once again hunted down by a group of assassins intent on killing her to find a secret box. Forced to warrant a guess, Thea ends up leaving Star City to go into hiding with Roy so she can truly be safe from her enemies. It would be a typical ending for a character arc on Arrow, and leave the possibility of a return for the final season.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – “Principia”

"In an attempt to save the world, the team searches for Gravitonium."

Not only is the team racing the preserve the world, they’re also trying to save Coulson’s life. It will be interesting watching how this episode plays out with all of the agents prioritizing different things. The sneak peek already shows that Daisy and May will do whatever it takes to keep their captain safe. Yo-Yo learned in the midseason finale that this is what will ultimately lead to the end of the world, which makes one question whether the destruction is inevitable.

Most series are ramping up in the second half of their seasons and the sneak peeks definitely showcase the heightened drama. The Arrowverse is hoping to finish strong after these lukewarm seasons while Gotham fans are desperate to see their drama renewed. The decisions for renewals are coming soon and almost every show outside of The CW is in danger of cancellation.
