Martin Donovan will join an already star-studded Big Little Lies cast for Season 2.

Big Little Lies is continuing to add new members to their all-star cast.

The award-winning HBO series cast Martin Donovan to play Martin Howard, the father of Bonnie, played by Zoe Kravitz. The role will be recurring, so we should expect to see him on more than one episode. However, specific details about his character are still unknown.

More from HBO

You may recognize Donovan from his time on Weeds as Peter Scottson and in Ant-Man as Mitchell Carson. You will catch him in another HBO production later this year in the TV movie Fahrenheit 451 as Commander Nyari.

The series also recently cast Crystal Fox as Elizabeth Howard, Bonnie’s mother. The Hollywood Reporter says that her mother was controlling and emotionally abusive to her, which provides a better sense as to why Bonnie ends up pushing Alexander Skarsgard’s Perry down a flight of stairs when he was abusive to his wife Celeste (Nicole Kidman).

In addition to Donovan, Big Little Lies announced other cast additions over the last few months. Douglas Smith (Big Love, The Alienist) will play Corey Brockfield, an off-beat surfer, aspiring marine biologist. Mo McCre (Den of Thieves) will play a recurring character, Michael Perkins.

But perhaps the biggest casting move has been the addition of Meryl Streep as Perry’s mother, Mary Louise Wright. A photo from Streep’s first day on set was released last week.
