‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ To Say Good-Bye After Season 4 and a Movie
Netflix’s comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will end its run with season four and then wrap up with a movie.
Say it ain’t so, Kimmy!
Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) may be unbreakable, but that doesn’t mean her show is unending. According to Deadline, the fourth season of the zany Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be its last.
The fourth season will be followed by a movie that should tie up any loose ends in the story. The movie will be written by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock who co-created the series and also collaborated on the beloved NBC sitcom 30 Rock.
This revelation follows news that the fourth and final season will be split in two. The first batch of six episodes will premiere on May 30. The seven episodes that make up the second half the season will be available at a later date in 2018.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was one of the first half-hour comedies to premiere on Netflix. But Deadline reports that the cast and creators thought the time was right for the show to end.
When we saw her last season, it seemed like Kimmy was finally starting to get her life together, taking a job that seemed perfect for her. So perhaps her story really is reaching a conclusion.
But the series is a sad loss for fans. The show featured Tina Fey’s trademark brand of wacky but topical comedy, often mining serious issues for laughs.
After all, the show’s premise rests on Kimmy’s rescue from a doomsday cult and reintegration into society. This gave the series a unique voice and tone, enabling it to comment on the absurdities of modern life in a big city.
The show resulted in a number of viral moments, especially from Kimmy’s friend and roommate, Titus Andromedom (Tituss Burgess), such as the song, “Pinot Noir.” The series was also nominated for numerous awards, including 16 Emmys.

At least we still have a full season of episodes and a movie to look forward to before Kimmy and her pals officially walk off into the sunset.
