The first images of House of Cards Season 6 have been released, featuring new leading cast member Robin Wright.

Netflix announced in early March that the political thriller House of Cards would be back for a sixth and final season. More news for the fans of the show, as the first images have been released, both featuring Robin Wright.

Robin Wright, who plays Claire Underwood, will now receive top billing for “House of Cards” final season

This will be the first season without Kevin Spacey, who was fired late last year on the heels of several sexual misconduct allegations against him.

It can’t be easy for a show to survive without its main star, but former co-star Robin Wright is returning to fill the void. Wright plays Claire Underwood, newest president of the United States and the wife of Spacey’s character.

Viewers of the show have already seen the ruthless lengths Claire will go to possess power. Now that she’s reached the very top of the political chain and betrayed her own husband, how far will she go to maintain it? Have him murdered possibly? They have to write Frank Underwood off somehow, right?

Returning alongside Wright are cast members Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Derek Cecil, Patricia Clarkson, and Constance Zimmer among many others.

Joining the final season’s cast are a pair of Academy Award Nominees in Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Under the Tuscan Sun), Greg Kinnear (As Good as It Gets, Little Miss Sunshine), as well as Cody Fern (American Crime Story). Although much of any detail about their characters has yet to be released, Lane and Kinnear will play siblings.

What will be in the cards for Season 6? Little has been revealed and much of the story had to be rewritten after Spacey’s firing. Claire will certainly have new adversaries. The act of murder she committed in season 5 may also come back to haunt the US President.
