Netflix’s Wanderlust starring Toni Collette reveals first look image
The upcoming series, Wanderlust, from the BBC and Netflix, has released a first look image.
Wanderlust, which stars Toni Collette as a therapist named Joy Richards, will explore familial bonds and long-term relationships. Collette’s character is looking for a way to keep the spark in her relationship with her husband alive after a cycling accident leads to a reassessment of her marriage.
The show will also introduce other people in Joy’s circle — including family, friends, and clients —who are also struggling with love, lust, and the difficulty of maintaining happy, monogamous relationships.

On her involvement in the series, Collette said,
"I am honored and thrilled to work with Nick Payne’s wonderful words on Wanderlust. It is an authentic and revolutionary story about relationships, sex, love and all the things we really care about. I could not be more excited."
In addition to Collette, the six-part series will also feature Steven Mackintosh (Luther), Zawa Ashton (Fresh Meat), and Joe Hurst (The Terror). It was filmed in Manchester, England.
Wanderlust will be written by Nick Payne (The Art of Dying), a British playwright who is making his television debut with the series. Directing duties will be split between Luke Snellin (The A Word) and Lucy Tcherniak (The End of the F***king World).
Oscar-nominee and Emmy-winner Collette was most recently seen on the big screen in the horror film Hereditary and the indie Hearts Beat Loud. Wanderlust isn’t the only Netflix series Collette is currently attached to. She will also star as a detective who investigates a rape accusation in the upcoming limited series Unbelievable.
While Collette is primarily known as an accomplished film actress, she previously starred in the Showtime series United States of Tara for three seasons. Her upcoming Netflix shows feature Collette in very different roles, but they both look to explore challenging, cerebral themes that will captivate interested viewers.
Wanderlust will premiere on Netflix later this year, although no specific release date has been announced yet.
